Terra Nueve

One day when I was shopping, my phone rang and a voice I did not recognize asked for me by name. I was hesitant at first but when he mentioned he was from a gallery, he had my total attention. In 2014, Sanjeev Sivarulrasa started an art gallery in Almonte, Ontario, a small mill town near Ottawa, and was looking specifically for Newfoundland artists to add to his group. Would I be interested in his representing my work? Yes I would. The fact that along with my work, Sanjeev had chosen to represent Michael Pittman added to my excitement.
Terre-Nueve was to be Michael and my introduction as two Newfoundland artists to the greater Ottawa market. We flew out and stayed in Almonte for two days and were treated by Sanjeev like VIPs . The opening was wonderful, with good attendance and our work was well accepted. Since then both of us have had sales from this show. It has been a whirlwind, but now I am represented to two galleries.
Fourth Anniversary Show,

Both Michael and myself were part of Sivarulrasa's fourth anniversary show in December, 2018. Root Cellar # 26 was featured on the show card and Root Cellar #10 and #1 of the Ghostly in the Gloom series were was also part of the exhibition.

Fifth Anniversary Show,
December 22 to December 29, 2019
This December, Sanjeev once again featured Michael Pittman and myself in the gallery's fifth anniversary show. This year's show card featured my first of a new series, Thrust Toward Spring #1. Root Cellar # 1 and Thrust and Thrust Towards Spring # 2 were also hung in the gallery for this holiday exhibition.

Solo Show, Private Viewing (Vernissage)

I got the news the other day that Sanjeev is planning a solo show for me in March of next year. I will be exhibiting some new pieces of the Root Cellar Meditation series along with two new series , Thrust Towards Spring and Grebe's Nest. Rex and I will be traveling to Almonte for the vernissage in the spring. I am excited to have another solo show and also to have a plethora of projects for the winter. It should be a very interesting and productive spring.
